From 1899 to the Dream Team FC Barcelona was founded in 1899, but the club experienced its most successful years in the beginning of the 1990’s with players like Laudrup, Stoitchov, Koemann, Guardiola and Romario. With coach Johan Cruyff the team won 4 national championships and one European Cup. This team that won the Champion's League for the first time and 5 times the Spanish League was called the dream team in the 1990'ies
A new dream team
At the moment the Spanish sport press is talking of a new Dream Team under the leadership of Josep Guardiola - and even surpassing it. After winning the Champions League with players like Ronaldinho and Deco, FC Barcelona repeated with Eto'o and Messi. Now after several great seasons Guardiola has obtained 13 titles for the club, something that no other coach has tried before in the history of soccer. And it seems that FC Barcelona's players are not tired of winning yet.
Camp NouFC Barcelona’s stadion, Camp Nou (in Catalan meaning "The new stadion”) can sit 98.787 spectators and so it is one of the biggest of its kind in Europe. At the moment, the club is planning on extending the stadium.
