| Just 150 years ago, the Gràcia-district was a village seperated from Barcelona. Today it is a part of the Catalan metropolis that has grown a lot since that time. But Gràcia still maintain many of its old traditions - here among the Gràcia-festival that can be experienced each year in august.
Plaça del sol
Gràcia has many squares, and Plaça del Sol is one of the most popular ones. Here you can listen to live music in the summer when the square gets filled with beer-drinking people.
Verdi Park
This legendary cinema is one of the few that insists on showng movies in the original version without dubbing (in Spanish: vo). In Spanish cinema and TV John Wayne and Brat Pitt normally speak Spanish.
Casa Viçens
Only a few minutes walk from the metro station Fontana Antoni Gaudí's Casa Viçens is to be found. The building (1883) is one of the first to be build in the modernist style in Barcelona. |
